TEACHER'S VOICE

Mr. Sumito OI

Jazz & Popular Department Head

2-years of bringing depth to one's music. The path towards becoming the musician you aspire to be.

Jazz is full of ad-libs. To be able to play an unlimited number of melodies with any chord progression is one of Jazz's characteristics. In order to be able to perform ad-libs, an understanding of music mechanism=theory and the ability to utilize this understanding is required. Furthermore, this knowledge and skill can help overcome the wall between different genres, enabling a student to perform all types of popular music. Nurturing talents capable of not only meeting the various needs of the music scene but also capable of leading the popular music world.
